My students are from Texas. Most of them are English Second Learners and all of them attend a low, SES, public school. They are all super sweet, hardworking students who sometimes come to school lacking supplies. They are creatively gifted kids who, of course, need a nudge every now and then to get to work. This year, they have been learning the difference between narrative and expository writing. Most of them have the ability to beautifully improve their narrative writing through the use of sensory language.
