My students are 4th graders, ages 9-10 years old, with eyes bright, minds open, and hearts desiring to connect to reading. Some are sluggish readers, others read only when they have to, and then there are those that can't get enough. This is a big transitional year for these students as they move into being held more accountable for their academic attitudes and performance. Our school is located in southern California, and has parent support that places a firm emphasis on education.

About my class
