In order to make it easier for students to access their work during this remote learning period, my school district has purchased Kami, a PDF editor software. I am using this software in all of my math classes, which the students have really done a great job adapting to. I am able to see their work in real-time and offer immediate feedback. But, doing math on a computer is hard. Through a generous grant, all of my students received a touch-screen Dell laptop this school year, which is amazing. Having a stylus and being able to write directly on the math worksheets would greatly enhance their experience in our class. It would save my students a lot of time and hassle in a subject many of them already find difficult. They would be able to show their work more easily and clearly, allowing me to offer better feedback to them. Many of my students also feel the need to print out the documents, which is costly. They are using their own resources to do this. If they could edit the documents digitally, it would eliminate their need to print. Help my students save some trees!
