I have 20 bilingual first grade students in my class. The fact that they are classified as bilingual students automatically they are considered "at risk." Additionally, my school's population has about 73% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. They already come to school with gaps. Therefore, I want to provide all the necessary tools to fill those gaps in every possible way.
