P.S. 257 is situated around acres of grim public housing in Brooklyn. The community struggles for limited resources and safety is a major concern for its residents. Our school is a diamond in the rough! We provide a safe-haven for the children and offer groundbreaking programing like ballroom dance, chess club, drumline, drama club and a gifted and talented program. We have built, from the ground up, a teachers resource center and had our entire playground area reconstructed. In the seven years I've been a part of the P.S. 257 family, major changes have taken place.
