The students in my class are from lower income families, and 15% of my students are students with special needs. Our students are fun, caring, and energetic to learn, but are lacking some of the more current resources. Our students participate in free programs that teachers sponsor, such as Chicago Run, BAM, Soccer initiative, basketball and volleyball. They are eager to gain as much knowledge as they can from the free programs that are offered to them. Our school is a Title 1 school. All the students receive free lunch and breakfast. We have great parent involvement from our students' parents, but we are not able to get the financial support from the parents for the PTO like some other schools.
