My students strive to make positive possibilities out of seemingly impossible circumstances. They are smart, energetic, and resilient young adults with dreams of being something great. Many of my students are from low-income, single mother households dealing with environmental barriers that often hinder their academic potential. Attending an inner-city, Title I school should not diminish student access to a high-quality education. Our school is currently labeled as "failing" and our school district is undergoing state intervention. Like my students, my desire is to help turn a seemingly impossible situation into a positive possibility by providing each of my students with superior resources, cutting-edge technology, and educational experiences. They deserve it.
