Standing desks will allow students the opportunity to move and fidget while continuing to focus on classroom tasks. The desks will be used as a reward seating or as students need a change to their current seating. The standing desks will help create an environment where learning is the obvious goal, no matter what that looks like. Albert Einstein once said, "Curiosity is a delicate little plant that, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom." And freedom to learn and grow is exactly what I hope to provide to my students as they are removed from the restrictions of a "typical" classroom.
