Those are the kinds of magazines that I'd like to offer my students. These are sixth, seventh and eighth graders at a school in South Florida. Over 80% of my students are classed as 'Hispanic', but the fact is that they speak Spanish with varying degrees of fluency. Some students speak little or no Spanish. Others speak wonderful Spanish. The majority of my students fall somewhere in the middle: they 'get by' in 'Spanglish'. I teach several groups of children. Each group has typically 20-25 students and has all three levels - beginner, proficient and 'Spanglish' speakers. As you can imagine, these groups are tough to teach!
