My students are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who love inquiry and making connections to their world. They have a love of science and are naturally curious. As they reach adolescence this curiosity extends to how the human body--and their body--functions. While many of my students could access this information through text alone, this would not provide the meaningful, relevant learning experiences they crave and from which they learn best. My students also represent a variety of backgrounds and experiences. They attend our small community charter school that strives to nurture children at the deepest level so that each child can meet her/ his potential. To honor students' differing backgrounds and beliefs we value differentiation at all levels of instruction, including meeting the students where they are as a Whole Child.
