Super Storm Sandy washed away over 500 homes in our little shore town in late October. The students were forced to find shelter elsewhere as they watched their homes and belongings wash away. When our students and teachers returned to 'school', all split into four nearby neighborhoods, no one knew what or how many to expect. I was overwhelmed with emotion when all but five of my students were found around the county and returned to 'school'. wherever it may had been. I admire them very much for pulling it together and working through their losses at such a young age.
