I currently teach 1st grade in a K-1 literacy center. While we teach every subject, our focus is on literacy. We believe that every student can read. It is my job as their classroom teacher to inspire my students to believe that motto. By providing literature in my classroom library that is of interest to my students, it will only build a stronger foundation that reading can be enjoyable and educational. My classroom is full of 18 bright young learners who are transitioning. They are realizing that not every student is the same and that we all grew up and learn in a different way. We are all different. I want to provide resources that are accepting of this realization.
