I teach students with special needs in grades 4 and 5, with varying struggles from specific learning disabilities to emotional behavior disorders. Many of these students lack self confidence to perform to their potential. By using the Leader in Me program to build happy leaders, and resources for improving technology use, I can grow leaders. These students can be reached with technology, and then lead other students in their classes. What works one day for these students may not work the next. My students are motivated to learn, but often become bogged down by their disabilities and home lives. Our school is located in a rural college town so there are numerous opportunities for these students to further their education, and further their sphere of influence in their homes and communities. We are a Title I school, and all students receive free meals, demonstrating the income level of the homes where these studen
