The students attend an urban school and face all of the challenges that come with poverty. The music room is a place of solace for them. Oftentimes I am surprised when a "tough" student comes down and reaches out to me for help in expressing themselves through music. I am putting together a student recording studio to reach out to these students and give them a space to express themselves through the art of music.
