My students, grades 3-6, with autism, learning disabilities, and communication disorders all strive to overcome their disabilities that greatly impacts their lives. We integrate with the general education students as much as possible, but so often it has proven to be a source of stress. My students' deficiencies in reading impacts all aspects of their school experience. The traditional methods used with general education students don't work for these students, and an interactive whiteboard would help address the visual and tactile learning styles of these unique learners so as to give them the help they need to optimize their learning potential to increase their reading skills.
