I teach first grade at a Title 1 school where the students come from low economic households. My students don't have a lot of exposure to reading in the home and come to the classroom with various levels of reading abilities. I am a first year teacher and do not have many resources. A listening center will provide my struggling readers additional support in basic skills needed to be a successful reader.
