I am blessed to teach in a self-contained classroom with students who have been identified as having Cognitive or other impairments. Many of my students struggle with sensory difficulties that make it a challenge for them to succeed academically and socially in the school setting. Sensory interventions are research based and have proven to help my students in numerous ways. Currently, we do not have access to funding for many of the sensory items/supports that my students need. This project will contribute to a sensory space for my students and others throughout our elementary school that need these supports. This project will greatly impact my students in a positive way by providing them the sensory interventions they need to succeed!
