Our students are amazing. They are yearning for the opportunity to be creative. Due to the high poverty area they live in there are not many opportunities for them to participate in the arts. As with many other schools in our country, art is not part of enrichment nor a required course. As the school librarian, I feel it is my job to provide them with that opportunity. I want them to be able to make connections between literacy and various forms of art. I want them to have hands on experiences and create art they can take home and be proud of sharing.

About my class
