The students in my classroom are in kindergarten and attend a school that is 95% free and reduced. They live in an urban area that is extremely low income. All my students live within walking distance of the school. My students are wonderful and very bright although they have very little exposure to the things outside their very small sphere of living space and immediate influences. Many of my students rarely leave the town they live in. The students in my classroom are very active and energetic and require hands on learning. They love actual pictures of the things they are learning about and get extremely excited when music is attached to what they are doing.
