My students are incredibly hard working scholars that face many challenges outside of school. More than 85% of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. They live in a low-income community and for most of them it is their goal to be the first in their family to graduate COLLEGE! A majority of my students are Latino/Hispanic and English is their second language. The community our school serves also suffers with gang-related violence and drug abuse. Our school is one of the only charter schools in the area for middle schoolers. We are currently in our 4th year of operation and were even named last year as a California Distinguished School. We struggle to operate due to the low budget allowances for charter schools in our state. Help our students succeed regardless of their background and community!
