Most of my students are from an inner-city neighborhood where gangs are prevalent. The children come from homes where English is the second language. Their families are financially challenged. Over 96 percent of my students receive free or reduced lunches. With all of their challenges, the children are eager to be successful and the parents make sure that the children are at school to learn everyday. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest differences in their lives and that is what I notice with my students. If they were to receive an awesome gift of a tablet for the school, they would be so thrilled about being able to learn with this tool.
