My students make me smile each day; however, they face many challenges. I teach in a title one school in a low income area of Texas. My students are only 8-10 years old, but many of them have faced much more life than any kid that age should. Our classroom is a place for them to come, feel safe, learn, and be their age! They all work hard every day in the classroom to take on the academic challenges I set for them. Life has given these students its own set of challenges so we often are playing a catch up game academically. Any items that I can put into their hands to help with reading will do so much for their bright minds!

About my class
