I have a classroom full of 25 first grade students, who are energetic and curious about the world around them. Our urban, title one school is in a renovated parking garage. Nearly 70% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and live in poverty. Our school is a part of a charter school district, striving to close the achievement gap, and to send 100% of our students to college. Their nearby public school districts are inadequate, and our school hopes to provide the quality education that every child deserves. The world is vast to a six year old child, and they have the ability to be successful in the world.

About my class
