I teach in an inner city middle school in central Illinois. My classroom lacks classroom computers, a sink, safety equipment, lab tables, etc. It is very challenging trying to do experiments/labs/explorations with little resources, especially as a young new teacher. Science is a subject that most of our students struggle with and hands-on learning activities are a proven tool to build student comprehension. I want my students to be excited about science and I think providing them with a lab such as dissecting owl pellets is just the ticket.
