My elementary is a unique Title 1 school nestled in a low socioeconomic area of Texas. Our large student body has very limited opportunities to experience or have access to musical instruments in their home or in the community. With the funds to purchase more musical instruments for my students, I will be able to provide more hands-on activities and kinesthetic opportunities to practice the musical notes in our songs and musical performances. I like to give my students the opportunities to not only use the musical instruments in class as part of my on-going lessons, but also include performances for their parents and the community. My students are passionate about learning and would grow to love music even more, the more instruments I can get in their precious hands.
