The school my students attend has been historically the lowest performing school in the state of Louisiana. We are committed to turning this school around. The students at this school struggle in a profound way with what most would consider simple. My students have a really difficult time learning to read. Reading becomes even more difficult when you do not have books on your level to read. Imagine picking up a Shakespeare play as a 5th grader, that is how my students feel every day since they do not have books to read on their level.
