My Middle School students attend school in a high-poverty urban district in Ohio. They are all eager learners, but lack the supplies and real-life interest in mathematics necessary to bring them to the next level. State testing requires my students to show proficiency in the Common Core Standards for Mathematics. Since they are from a low socioeconomic and highly transient area, their math skills are often significantly below grade level. I teach math to fifty 7th and 8th graders, and I need help to get some cool math magazines to help me bring high-interest problems and ideas to my students.
