I teach a K-3rd grade Special Day Class in Bakersfield, Ca. My school district is in an impoverished part of the County. My students can not afford the basic supplies for school, let alone books or technology. That is why what I can provide for them at school is so crucial to their learning environment. I need help getting low leveled readers and a listening center to ensure my students are exposed to the amazing world of reading. Most of my students reading levels are several grades below their current grade and therefore they need books read to them.
