As an adult we have all sat through presentations in uncomfortable chairs struggling to pay attention. Students feel the same way yet we continue to expect them to "sit still" and "pay attention!". What if we could make it easy for them to attend to instruction and get movement at the same time? I am requesting six Kore Wobble Chairs, six wobble cushions and 6 sets of bouncy bands. The seating options that I am proposing in my project have been proven to increase attention to task and participation in classroom activities by providing students with quiet, constructive movement right at their seat. Simple accommodations like the ones I have proposed not only help my student's that are on IEP's but they also help our "typical learners". Everyone benefits.
