Our Saturday morning class is a small group, so students get a lot of attention, and it allows the students to express themselves through arts and crafts. The projects are chosen so that each student will be able to take their finished project home and feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in their piece. The goal of our seasonal projects is to have the students work to become a memento or family heirloom. The paint and brushes will be the foundation of all our projects. Last year we painted a tree for every season, ornaments, valentine's day cards, etc. The clothespins will be used to create snowflakes, the frames will be used to create Holiday presents for family members, and the assorted wood pieces will add to the students' ingenuity and creativity. Students need to feel successful out of the classroom and designing and creating Art can fill that desire. Nothing is better than seeing a smile takeover the face of a student that is proud of their artwork.
