My students are third and fourth grade special education students in a large metropolitan school district in Indiana. My school is excellent! We have excellent ratings from the state and are getting a lot of good "buzz" and recognition on a city and statewide level. The entire staff has high expectations for all students and the level of rigor is extremely high. Many of my students are English Language Learners. English is their second language and is not the primary language spoken in their homes. They struggle with many areas of reading, including vocabulary and comprehension. They also often struggle with learning addition/subtraction and multiplication/division facts and many areas of math.
