The students in my classroom are very diverse. I have many students who have IEPs and receive special education services. I also have several EL students. The community at our school is also very diverse, ranging from affluent families to families that are homeless and live in shelters. The students in my classroom so enjoy sharing and working in collaboration with each other. I build in frequent opportunities for students to share with one another, through pair-share, small groups, and collaborative projects. In these activities it becomes evident the student learning taking place as they engage in conversation on the topics we are studying in class. The ability to engage students in conversation is essential for their understanding of the complex topics they are studying. Utilizing the technology in this request will greatly impact student achievement, confidence, collaboration, and learning in the classroom. This project meets our goal to create a 21st Century vision.
