My students attend a high school of approximately 1,400 in Wisconsin. They range from 9th through 12th graders who are two or more years below grade level in reading or language proficiency. Students in this gray area struggle to be motivated academically and need real-life events they can relate to, so they are more likely to be engaged in a meaningful discussions and increased reading comprehension. Exposing them to current topics will help them make connections not only to themselves, but to other texts and the world.

About my class
