Most of our students come from low income or middle class families. Approximately 85% of our students are African American and Hispanic. They choose to come to our school because they want to make sure that they are prepared for their future and know they are college bound. Most of them are motivated to learn and strive to excel academically. Our school is an Outward Bound Expeditionary Learning school that focuses on developing students that are intrinsically motivated learners that will eventually become positive contributing citizens of their community. We focus on academic rigor while offering a variety of electives to ensure that our students are well rounded individuals. There is also a great emphasis on college readiness and character education. We emphasize the importance of community service, trust, accountability and respect. Our students are amazing! They are helpful and have a sense of comradery among themselves. Our students become friends that feel like family.
