Our Arts and Humanities classes embrace the Project-Based Learning format. This means that students are focusing in on knowledge and skills, derived from standards and key concepts at the heart of academic subject areas. They will develop their skills to think critically, solve real world problems, collaborate and communicate. Each project has a "Driving Question" that students explore throughout the unit. They too are asking questions and utilizing various resources to gather information that is important to them and their project. Students are also given a "Voice and Choice" when it comes to their learning, their end project, and their seating in the classroom. Their choices are carefully guided (not dictated) by the teacher. This gives the students freedom to discover things about their own learning and become more self aware. When the project is complete students will display, perform, or publish their work.
