My school’s population is around 2,500 students. My classes are comprised of 175 students, mostly sophomores, in five sections of World History. Everyday in class I expose my students to events, both historical and current, from around the world. To supplement the text, I use a video projector, sound system, and a large projection screen to present visual examples of the day’s topic. Examples of what is shown include live newscasts, Google Earth, still photos, and documentary videos. In surveys taken at the end of each year, my students have confirmed that the overall impact of the video presentations has been very positive.
