My student are amazing! Despite their many struggles, they come to school with bright smiles and ready to learn. All of the student in my class are learning English. This make reading and writing in English on grade level very difficult. Although they are a challenge, they are also a tremendous joy and blessing in my life. Teaching student who are in poverty, at risk academically, and have special needs is very challenging, but I would not switch schools for the world. These students need me, and to be perfectly honest, I need them too! Our school is a Title I school, which is 100% free lunch. This means every family at our school lives in poverty. They do not have money for school supplies. My students deserve the best, and I do whatever it takes to fill the void in them.
