My students are emerging and fluent readers. They attend a public school in a military town in Georgia. My students come from low and middle class families who value education. They come from diverse ethnic backgrounds due to many being military children. In many cases, both parents work outside the home, but despite their busy schedules their children's education is a priority. It brings joy to see a student whose struggling in reading to pick up a book and try to read and to see a fluent reader taking time out to help the other student with simple words that are very difficult which are easy for him or her to read. They are very energetic and keeps me on my toes at all times!
