We are at a public school. My fourth graders here are diverse learners with a variety of interests. They love to read and look forward to silent reading time, and when I can offer an exciting book for them to read, that makes them feel important and valued as a person and as a reader. I want to provide this feeling for all my students and help develop literacy skills and a passion for reading creative books. I also love giving them opportunities to further explore science and math standards, ideally with hands-on learning experiences. My favorite thing is to help students build their concentration and focus by using alternative seating.
