My students are fourth graders attending a large public school in California. We have large class sizes at our school and it is often difficult to obtain the funds necessary to provide enough materials for all of the students, let alone to meet their individual needs. Sharing materials is common, and what we do have access to is usually out-dated and in poor shape since our budget has not allowed for much replenishment in the last several years. We are working hard to prepare our students for 21st century learning and careers, but to do that we need resources.
