I teach 48 intellectually gifted third graders that live in area that has been devastated by hurricanes and a recent oil spill. Even through the challenges, we are rated as a "Star" school in our state. My students are involved in long and short-term assignments, which are enrichment and extension of regular classroom academic programs based on individual levels of ability and interests. My goal is to create a learning environment that fosters and encourages thinking, creativity, metacognition, healthy enriching relationships, and appropriate expectations and understanding of self for students who have been identified as intellectually gifted.

About my class
