My 26 third grade students love to read. With a wide range of levels, backgrounds and special needs, these eight year old students enthusiastically participate in the reading, math, science and social studies lessons that I provide. However, the technology provided by the school district is minimal and outdated. With the current budget situation in California, our school cannot keep up with the demands of current technology. At this time, the students in my class only have access to paperback and hardbound books; the limited classroom technology does not extend to any electronic reading format.
