My classroom is in a school that is located in an urban city and has a high poverty rate. It is a culturally diverse classroom and contains many English as a second language learners. The students are just as curious and energetic as any other 9 and 10 year olds, but don't always have the same opportunities to build the same academic background knowledge as other students.
