I teach in a Title I school in downtown Newport News. The majority of our students receive free lunch. Many of our students live in very violent surroundings, coming from single parent homes with limited opportunities to explore the world around them. With the new program provided at Discovery STEM Academy, we are really opening the eyes of our little learners! Students absolutely love the STEM opportunities we are presenting them. They have never been more excited to come to school! Their learning is relevant to the world we live in and they are soaking up every bit of it!

About my class
