My students range from kindergarten to fifth grade. Our school is a neighborhood school, with over 80% of our population at or below poverty. Many of the students begin kindergarten with little exposure to reading or math, so virtually anything academic is new to them. This often leads to low levels of achievement as they progress. These children need all the resources they can get. They need to be inspired to achieve their goals and strive to gain more out of their education.
