My students' school was closed last year due to funding. Our district decided to put them at a middle school with low enrollment. Our building is now a K-8 building. I decided to leave my first grade job at a highly proficient school and help create this new learning environment. I saw it as such a fun challenge. These kiddos are 100% free and reduced lunch and need to learn to love education as much as teachers do. I want them to be able to pick up books and find that love of reading and learning. A lot of them are very behind academically and have very low reading rates. I am doing Daily Five with them and need to have more books for them to listen to that will build their fluency. I love them like they are my own and buy a lot out of my own pocket for them. It would be so nice for them to have different choices of books to listen to so that they can read along with someone reading to them. They need so much repeat practice to learn - This Read-Along Library would give them so much!
