We have microscopes, but students look through them and don't know what they are looking at. They struggle to use the microscope because they don't know what they are looking for. With this microscope camera, students will be able to talk together to learn how to use the microscope. Students will all see the same image at the same time in a group. I will be able to instruct them while they are looking at the slide. They will be able to search slides to find and identify mixed slides. The microbial world will be theirs to explore. As students begin to learn about various science it is my hope that they can see themselves in varied and diverse STEM careers where minorities and females are traditionally underrepresented. Through the use of STEM literature, students will learn about the importance of tolerance, diversity, and inclusion.
