I have 110, amazing students that at times seem to not be able to take turns when it comes to cooperative groups and learning in teams during discussions. At times they tend to not want to interact with all students in a group simply because they are different. My students need examples of what bullies are and how to avoid becoming a bully by working in groups with the book, "Bullying in Schools" by Townsend Press. They need to know that bullying does not always involve physical contact, but emotional contact as well. Bullying needs to be addressed early on to students so that they can be buddies and not bullies with all of their classmates. Help me teach ways to combat bullying to my students and acceptance of all regardless of our physical makeup.
