My students are an enthusiastic and curious bunch of young men and women who are eager to learn and understand science. They do best with any hands-on learning experiences and always want to know why a specific phenomenon exists or how scientists made a certain discovery. They each have unique needs and differentiating my instruction is important to ensure all students are accessing the material. My students are from low income neighborhoods in inner city New York, and do not get support with chemistry at home. They are independent thinkers and work very hard to master the material because they are invested in succeeding for their future. They often ask questions about college and I want to ensure they are prepared for future science coursework at a rigorous level.
