Students in our district live in poverty but have the biggest, warmest hearts that can jump start mine on any given day. They do not have much which allows them to be thankful for even the smallest of gestures. I encourage my students to find a passion and love for learning through keeping a growth mindset and engaging novelty. Students are proud of who they are and embrace eachothers uniqueness. At Carl Lauro Elementary, teachers and students grow academically and socially with critical thinking, collaborating, project based work, and station rotation. We are a blended learning school which individualized teaching to each specific student needs. I taught grade one for eight years, but recently transitioned to be the math coach at Carl Lauro.
